A proposed new taxi service for Vernon is getting support from city council.
Councillors gave unanimous approval Monday to provide a letter of support for the service to the Passenger Transportation Board.
Current Taxi Ltd. appeared as a delegation before council at its Jan. 23 meeting.
The company is proposing a fleet of two to four Tesla electric cars in the Vernon area.
“In all credit to Current Taxi, they managed to get (a licence) for Kelowna,” said Akbal Mund, pointing out the cars would be environmentally-friendly.
